NHC Northern Helicopter takes up air rescue service for four more offshore wind farms in the North Sea

Northern Helicopter GmbH (NHC Northern Helicopter), Emden, is set to take up the offshore rescue service for the Veja Mate, Nordergrund, Butendiek and BARD Offshore 1 offshore wind farms in the North Sea's German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) on 1 August 2020.

Strong new partner for Northern HeliCopter (NHC), Emden: DRF Luftrettung has taken over all shares in the air rescue company with retrospective effect as per 1 January 2019.

Emden. The holistic acute – and emergency medical care concept WINDEAcare remains the leading product for the construction and operation of offshore wind farms. EnBW and the Canadian energy company Enbridge Inc. - with their new offshore wind farm Hohe See - also put their trust in the comprehensive expertise of the partners of this unique concept in offshore rescue.

Northern HeliCopter on rescue service in the Baltic Sea

Emden. Emden-based Northern HeliCopter GmbH (NHC for short) has secured its first order for service in the Baltic Sea. In 2018, NHC will have a rescue helicopter with pilots and medical crew based in Güttin on the island of Rügen on 24/7 call throughout the year. The client is 50Hertz Transmission (50HzT) from Berlin, who had been looking for an interim solution until completion of its EU tender.

Rescue by Northern HeliCopter

Dramatical moments in the mud flat: Twice the team had to rescue vacationers from difficult situations. Due to a knee injury, one person wasn’t able to walk through the mud by herself and needed help to get back to the safe beach. The rescue team ordered a stretcher and had to pull the person to the beach 400 meters away. Just as this mission was over, another call came in: A middle-aged woman was stuck in the mud flat already for an hour, her husband and daughter were with her, but not able to help…

The idea of cooperation between several highly qualified partners from different areas has now been appreciated by an international jury. WINDEAcare was honored with this year’s Duty of Care Award in the category “Partnership”. The award presentation took place on 29 June 2017 at a gala event in Berlin.
